Autism Services
|
Our ABA program has been hard at work expanding and refining our Parent Training service line, and we are proud to say that over this past month, our assessment team has begun assessments for families to receive these services! Treatment in our Parent Training program is focused on building the caregiver’s skills, rather than the child’s. In this service model, caregivers work with a high-level service provider to gain skills aimed at effectively parenting their child. Parent Training is a less intensive model of

treatment than our Parent-Led ABA or 3-Tier ABA service lines, and we are thrilled to be able to provide this service that gives caregivers confidence and additional skills in parenting their children!

Kaleidoscope
|
Within the past several months, you may have noticed that the Kaleidoscope program has been growing—in the last year, we’ve added 10 new participants and it is with great pleasure that we announce Kaleidoscope will be opening services in our Walnut Creek office! Please stay tuned for further details and, if you have questions about the program or know of an individual who is looking for services, please contact Zach Lupton at [email protected]
With the hot weather season upon us, please keep the following in mind for your loved one’s well-being:
|
|
- Send participants to program with enough fluids to last the entire day.
- Ensure that weather-appropriate clothing is being worn.
- Apply sunscreen before coming to the program.
- Provide meals that don't require reheating as we may not have acess to a microwave while out in the community.
Also, while we may all be a little nutty, Kaleidoscope is a nut-free program. To provide a safe environment, please do not send participants to program with any items containing nuts.

Early Intervention (EI)
|
As we reach the end of July, we are excited to share that we will be implementing a hybrid service delivery model toward the end of summer! This means that we will be able to offer both in-person and telehealth sessions. While we gear up for hybrid services, we are continuing our EI telehealth program for over 300 clients and counting. Know someone in need? We are continuing to offer free developmental screenings for children ages 0-5. Please email us at [email protected] for more information.

Did you know that as we move through the summer, 4 of our locations will feature Virtual Learning Focus Groups? These groups, attended by children and their parents, are designed to develop young children’s social and language skills. Additionally, our Lake County offices will be introducing the Lake County Toy Library Pilot Program, in partnership with Redwood Coast Regional Center and the Mental Health Services Act Grant. The Toy Library will lend toys and educational materials to families and agencies in the counties we serve free of charge.
Finally, if you’re looking for a fun, creative and cost effective way to stay cool while being near water, check out this tutorial on how to make a homemade water table!
