This month, Easterseals Northern California is focused on helping clients smoothly transition from summer to fall. Whether that means working with your care team on an updated back-to-school treatment schedule or incorporating a new reoutine into your child or participant's day, we are here for you!

Autism Services

Back-to-school time can get quite busy for our client families, and we’re ready to help manage the scheduling of direct care across all our service lines! In addition to scheduling 3-Tier ABA sessions, Social Skills Groups and Group ABA sessions, our Field Operations team will soon begin scheduling all direct care sessions across our Parent-Led ABA and Parent Training service lines.

We’re excited to help our client families with their scheduling needs for the upcoming school year!

Kaleidoscope

Our Kaleidoscope participants are enjoying being back together and the many activities that are planned for them each day. Kaleidoscope is more than just building community — it focuses on living, socialization, safety, lifelong learning, health and fitness, leisure and recreation, money management and pre-employment training.

Why is this important to us? The participants at Kaleidoscope have direct input as to where they would

like to go and what they would like to see. Developing independent living skills starts with independent choices!

How do we do it? Every week, the group will meet and discuss where the next adventure will take them. While the group is working on the skills above, the staff at Kaleidoscope are working on Individual Program Plan goals with the participants in a unique way, where everyone’s goals are worked on with the entire group.

Did you hear? Kaleidoscope is opening a second center in Walnut Creek! Know someone looking for Adult Day Program services? Have them reach out to Zach Lupton at [email protected] for information on either location.

Early Intervention (EI)

The Early Intervention team has been rolling out a new curriculum, set to launch across ESNorCal’s EI programs on September 1! The Assessment, Evaluation, Programming System (AEPS) is used across the nation for children 0-5, and will be available to all of our EI families. AEPS aligns with our Family Guided Routines-Based Intervention model, and will also offer parent resources for family support, at-home behavior strategies and child development information.

Stay tuned for more updates, and feel free to ask your Early Interventionist about AEPS and how it can support you and your family.
